An Update on MHOGD7

An update on our progress with completing the 7th edition of Meggs' History of Graphic Design... Sandie and I have typeset 2/3 of the anticipated 500 pages. The cover design is now also complete. We are on target for a delivery of final files by the end of June 2025.
One of the new chapters we are excited about is a comprehensive timeline documenting important graphic design and cultural events from pre-history to the present. The Timeline has taken a unique form which we are hopeful is understandable. Traditionally timelines chart time linearly from top-to-bottom or from left-to-right. To simplify and condense our timeline, we move through time from top-to-bottom, but over 2-column per page (or 4-columns over each spread). What do you think? Hoping readers old and new will quickly orient to this design system.

And as we were researching timelines of various forms, we came across these gems from the 3rd edition of Meggs' History of Graphic Design. Wowee!!!
