Mobilizing
Movements, posters, propaganda, and other forms of visual communication that urge action on political, social, and civic issues.
In a visual culture, graphic design is an influential social medium. Throughout history, and especially in times of conflict, graphic designers have created posters, newspapers, and other graphics to recruit, boost morale, protest ideologies, or mobilize support. Additionally, independent groups demanding political or social change have created powerful graphics as a call to action. Seeing the success of these tactics, governments and activists have called on graphic designers to support social programs and initiatives with impactful, wide-reaching poster campaigns and other projects. Using symbols, narrative images, bold typography, and other techniques, designers have changed the minds of audiences with all types of persuasive media.
